We all have our perfect wedding in mind. That is our great big day. And we have our own do’s and dont’s during the wedding. But sometimes, without intentions we could sabotage this beautiful day, or even make it terrible.

Things That You Should Avoid

Weather Forecast – Weather forecast is really important. We understand, that nobody can predict exact weather forecast, but try to be reasonable. If you’re getting married during the “rainy season”, Fall for example, don’t make your wedding “open field” type. This might sound silly to you, but many couples while going trough the stressful wedding planning process sometimes forget these simple and basic things. A simple thing like weather can either break or make your wedding.

Getting Drunk – We have seen it often, in the movies, stories from our friends how that groom or bride got drunk even before the party, or maybe you have witnessed this yourself. This happens. Wedding day is very stressful – if the guests are here, have the vendors delivered everything, where is the band, is the venue open, and so on. So some people try to relax with a glass of whiskey, and sometimes too many glasses are involved, if you understand what we mean. Getting drunk on wedding can also be caused by the many toasts that are made. Be careful, and don’t disappoint your loved one on this wonderful day. Know your limits.

Forgetting The Real Reason – Going trough the wedding process people sometimes forget the real reason why they’re getting married. It’s not to show off to your friends, it’s not to celebrate that you’re settling down, wedding shouldn’t be the reason to impress someone. You have to remember the real reason of the wedding – that two people have found each other, and are ready to make a life-long commitment. This is the true meaning of wedding. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter how many guests came, how expensive your wedding was or any other thing. The important thing is that you’re both together, and are ready to walk the same road as one.

Sending invitations to your guests is an very old tradition. It’s not just a tradition, but also a very healthy thing to do if you don’t want to be just two of you in the wedding.

Wedding invitations should be sent out as soon as you have your wedding date set, and have the list of guests you want to attend. For planning purposes it is recommended to send the invitations out at least three months before the wedding date.

The Content Of Wedding Invitations

Wedding invitations should include various things, and be as informative as possible. If your wedding has a specific wedding theme, be sure to include that so your guests know how to prepare. Also state precise time of ceremony and place where it will happen. Including a small picture of map of the location will also help. Always state who you are inviting. If you’re inviting a couple, state both of their names in the invitation. If you’re sending an invitation to a single person, be sure to include that the person can bring another guest with him/her – “an invitation for two”. The guest might be dating someone, and you could not be aware of.

How To Send Your Wedding Invitation

If you have a ribbon row in your ceremony – ribbon row is the front sitting row for special guests. So if you have a ribbon row, attach a small ribbon to the invitation, so the guests can show it upon arrival.

Sending the invitation should be done in envelope. This protects the invitation itself from getting damaged during the mailing process. A standard mail envelope will do. You can decor or style the invitation as you like. If your wedding has a special theme, then you can design and style the invitation according to the theme.

These are few simple tips of sending out a successful wedding invitation to your guests. One more thing – always ask for a response. So you have a precise guest list.

If you’re the lucky one who’s been appointed to make a toast or speech for the wedding, have no fear. Sure it can seem like a daunting task, but you know the couple very well. Start your preparations by coming up with an array of memories you have for the bride and groom. Keep a nice balance between serious, happy, funny, and somber. Here are some sure fire tips to help you create the most memorable toast ever!

Say Thanks!

A great way to start off your toast is to simply thank everyone for coming on behalf of the couple. Also, thank anyone who helped in the preparations. Then, thank the bride and/or groom for adding significance to your life. Make sure not to forget to mention how you met!

Make ‘em Laugh!

A perfect speech always makes the audience laugh. People love it. Don’t be afraid to tell a quick funny anecdote or a few light-hearted jokes about the couple.

Get a Little Sentimental

Don’t be afraid to be mushy. You should be speaking from the heart. Incorporate a few soft stories about the bride and groom to keep your audience engaged.

Toast to the Couple

If you are the best man or friend of the groom, be sure to compliment the bride. Mention the admirable qualities she has brought out in him and say she’s the best thing that’s ever happened to him. Likewise, if you are the Maid of Honor, recognize the groom, as being the man of her dreams and why. Don’t forget to toast the happy couple together! Find a sweet way to say how they complete each other.

Finish Strong!

End with something really unique and special. Some type of “wow” factor. You want all the guests to clap, or better yet, stand up! You could choose to end with some heartfelt advice for the couple, or perhaps a poem, bible verse, or proverb that conveys your advice or sums up their relationship.

Remember, practice makes perfect! Perform the speech for a friend or small group, practice in the mirror, and read it out loud. Have confidence and the toast will be wonderful.
